  • Our comfortable, private labor and delivery rooms at our NWA Birthing Center offer birthing aids and birthing balls to assist with labor, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, a spacious waiting area designed with families in mind as well refrigerator and microwave.
  • We offer a doula-friendly, accepting environment if you wish to bring a doula (non-medical labor coach) to assist you before, during and after childbirth.
  • The option for epidural anesthesia. If you opt to have an epidural for pain relief during labor, one of our certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) is available around the clock and will coordinate with your obstetrician to optimize the time to receive an epidural. A board-certified anesthesiologist is also available in the hospital at all times.
  • If you plan to have a scheduled induction/Cesarean section, we will collaborate directly with your obstetrician for a scheduled induction or C-section.

After delivery, your new family will move to a private postpartum room where you can recover and get to know your baby. We’ll be there as well to answer questions and offer tips on newborn care, such as how to bathe or swaddle your baby. Most moms choose to have their baby in their room throughout their visit, which promotes better bonding and more opportunities to feel comfortable with taking care of your infant before you leave.

During your stay, one of our certified lactation consultants will stop by to discuss the benefits of breastfeeding, help you learn how to position your baby, and show you how to use a breast pump, if desired. She’ll also answer any questions or concerns you may have. You are always welcome to call our lactation consultants even after you go home or schedule time to return for an onsite consultation if you have continued breastfeeding concerns.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas offers exceptional care for premature infants. Our Level IIIA NICU in Rogers has 19-beds and is staffed by a team of neonatologists, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, therapists, a case manager, and pastoral care and lactation consultants.
